You are cordially invited to attend a delightful evening of English country dance in the polite society of The Jane Austen Society of North America, Kansas City Metropolitan Region. We encourage our neighboring JASNA Regions to attend as well as our friends from Kansas City English Country Dance.
Ticket prices have been determined, and we assure you that even Aunt Norris has found the following sums reasonable for the benefit received: $25.00 per person.
Bring a friend or partner, or come by yourself … it matters not, because our style of dance will have you changing hands with both novice and experienced dancers throughout the evening. Dances will be called by Martine Roesel who is an experienced caller and well known in the English Country dance world. Our Dance Mistress has been known to join in and demonstrate a step or two!
Dances will flow to the live music of Greg Allen and Rebecca Bell who played for our JASNA-KC AGM Ball. These wonderful musicians have just the right touch in their artistry and energy, exhibited by their rollicking interpretations and stately renditions of classic English Country Dance tunes.
We encourage Regency dress or modern dressy attire. The ballroom ambience is enhanced by the swing of skirts and kilts. (No jeans please.) A Cream Tea will be served and Whist will be offered as alternate entertainment.
Ready your reticule, feather your head dress, dust off your breeches but by all means join us on Saturday, April 27!
Church parking is available at the Immanuel Lutheran parking lot located near the church on Westport Road and on nearby streets (although NOT on Westport Road itself!); sharing carriages is highly encouraged!
Checks should be made out to JASNA-KC. You will receive an email with instructions on where to send payment by check. Your reservation is not confirmed until your check has been received.
